I'm not that good at pushing the traditional paint around...at least compared to digital paint (what with layers and oh, the great Undo Button) and I don't think I got enough time to work with it during class but excuses aside, I think I did... ... ...okay? I think I at least got an "unfocused" effect down.
The painting was referenced from a photo I took in downtown Toronto. We were supposed to paint over an old, used painting (that wasn't claimed by the previous students years ago) but still, somehow, show some of it. You can see a part of the old painting in the sky behind the white "Tower".
We also had to come up with a word or phrase and put it somewhere in the painting. The word/phrase was not supposed to be too literal or too meaningless, which made it very hard to come up with something.
Anyway, it's not my best but it was a fun, cool learning experience.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
